Igor Jelinović’s debut feature Honey Bunny has been selected as one of eight projects among 102 entries in the Goethe-Institut competition for the First Films First program.

The story takes place in Split, Croatia. It is an arthouse comedy about two strong-willed sisters, professional and responsible Anita and frivolously vivacious Alin and their families’ bitter-sweet fight for an inheritance.

First Films First is a training program for young directors from Southeast Europe, in the course of which they work on developing their first feature-length fiction films. The program comprises four modules that take place throughout the year. The first meeting, with the focus on script development, was held during the Transilvania International Film Festival (Romania). The second workshop focused on finding one’s own visual style and was held during the Manaki Brothers International Cinematographers Film Festival (Bitola, Macedonia). The third workshop dealt with the topic of working with actors and was held during the Auteur Film Festival (Belgrade, Serbia). The program ends with the pitching presentation in front of prominent producers, distributors, and film fund representatives. It takes place in March 2019, at Sofia Meetings, one of the leading co-production gatherings in the region
